PDSC BOARD OF DIRECTORS NOMINATIONS

Nominations are OPEN for Petrolia & District Skating Club (PDSC) Board of Director Positions!
Petrolia & District Skating Club (PDSC) has an exciting opportunity for you! Do you love supporting the youth within your community? Do you want to make a difference? Well you are in luck, we are currently accepting nominations for the upcoming 2024/2025 season PDSC Board of Director Positions!
Not to worry, skating knowledge is not required but a bonus! This is an opportunity to make change, share ideas and support the youth within our community.
Per ONCA (Ontario Not-For-Profit Corporations Act) Legislation, our Board is elected by our Members. Members are anyone current enrolled with a PDSC Skate Canada Membership in good standing (which is any current skater over the age of 18 or a parent or guardian of a skater under the age of 18).
Minimally the board must consist of an executive including a President, Secretary, and Treasurer, with the recommended size of 10 total directors. Other positions outside of the above-named executive include Registration Chair, Fundraising/Volunteer Co-Ordinator, Event Coordinator/Public Relations Chair, Test Chair, Coach Liaison, and Coach (acting in the capacity of a director, not a coach). Currently, all these positions are being looked after by 5 members. Any help and support would be appreciated and welcomed!
It saddens us to have to be pleading with you for support again, however want to be as transparent with our Members and the Community as possible. We need more board members. If we do not have a few more people join our already dedicated board of volunteers and coaches, our season and programing may look a lot differently next year. We are elated to have had a few new faces join over the last couple months and look forward to working with you. So if you or someone you know would be a great fit, please make that nomination!

The Annual General Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, May 2nd, 2024 @ 7pm. All members are strongly encouraged to attend to cast their vote on the PDSC Board for the 2024/2025.
