PDSC WINTER SHOWCASE

PRE-REGISTRATION INFORMATION

PLEASE READ PRIOR TO REGISTRATION OPENING TOMORROW!
 
We want all our families to be informed and aware of what is required of our members prior to registration, so please read the following before registering your skater.
 
1. We will be running a full season again this year apart from Powerskate, which will run for two 10-week sessions. Our regular Pre-CanSkate / CanSkate / StarSkate season will run from September 22nd to March 6th. Ice Show practices will begin March 9th for those that are participating, and the show will be held on Sunday April 6th, 2024.
 
2. Families will still be required to submit a $200 post-dated volunteer/fundraising cheque prior to their skater(s) taking to the ice; however, we understand that cheques are becoming a thing of the past and can be costly, so there is the option for you to set up a post-dated payment via credit card through your Uplifter Account. You will just need to provide a copy of the invoice on the first night of sessions. Upon completion of volunteer and fundraising requirements, the charge will be cancelled. Cheques will still be accepted if preferred. If you cancel the charge and have NOT completed your volunteer and fundraising requirements, you will not be allowed to register with PDSC in the future without paying the $200. You will be able find further instructions on how to complete the online post-dated option on our website under ‘News’ as of August 30th. https://pdsc.uplifterinc.com/news/
 
3. We will be continuing with our fundraising and volunteer requirements this year and it will remain the same as last season; $100 profit kickback and 4 hours volunteering. Volunteer sign-up is again incorporated into our registration process. You can browse through volunteer positions and sign up at the same time as registration. If you do not see a position that fits your schedule there may be more positions added throughout the season. Each volunteer position shows it is worth 1 credit, which is equivalent to 4 hours. More information can be found on our website under ‘News’ as of August 30th.
 
4. Information regarding the fees that you will see during registration can be found on our website https://pdsc.uplifterinc.com/pages/fees/. Please read through beforehand so you know why they are being charged and any options you need to be aware of for them.
 
5. During registration you have the option to opt out of receiving emails from the club. We prefer that you do not do this as we do send important communications to members through email. Though if you choose to, we recommend that you follow our Facebook Page so that you are apprised of anything happening with the club such as special events or activities, weather related changes, or anything that we need to communicate to members.
 
6. Lastly, all registration is done online so don’t forget to create your Uplifter account on our website if you don’t already have one. IN LIEU OF CHEQUES 2024/2025

We are continuing to try some different approaches to better serve our club members. We understand that cheques are becoming a thing of the past and can be costly. We are providing an alternative to submitting a cheque by allowing members to agree to a post dated credit card charge. Upon completion of volunteer and fundraising requirements, charge will be cancelled.

Cheques will still be accepted if preferred. 

If you prefer a post dated credit card charge:

  1. This MUST be added on its own invoice.
  2. After you have completed your registration and paid. Start a new invoice by going back to your shopping cart. 
  3. Select "Purchase Subscription".
  4. Choose "Pay by installments"
  5. Post dated transaction should appear. Date will be April 30, 2025. 
  6. Confirm payment method and complete. 

If you cancel the charge and have not completed your volunteer and fundraising requirements, you will not be allowed to register with PDSC in the future without paying the $200.

2024/2025 VOLUNTEER & FUNDRAISNG REQUIREMENTS

Due to the increasing cost of living and our desire to keep our club as affordable as possible for members, we are continuing with our fundraising campaigns. We are asking that each family completes fundraising to a minimum of $100 total kickback to the club in order for requirement to be met.  As the season gets going, we will be providing more information on fundraising campaigns we have planned. 

In addition to fundraising, the volunteer requirement is 4 hours (no change). Volunteer sign-up is again incorporated into our registration process. You can browse through volunteer positions and sign up at the same time as registration. If you do not see a position that fits your schedule, we may be adding more positions throughout the season. This is a very time consuming job for us, please be patient. 

All of the tracking for fundraising and volunteer positions is a very time consuming job but it is a much needed aspect of the club. We would much prefer your assistance over your money but we understand that some families are just not able to commit to the requirements or would just prefer not to complete them.  So to save us some work sending unnecessary communication, we are providing the option to just pay the $200 at the beginning of the season.  If you would prefer this option, you can either submit a non post-dated cheque at your first session or complete the in lieu of cheque option online, following the instructions there.
